You paid for that lead. Someone else got the case.
Most small firms don't lose cases because of bad lawyering. They lose them at intake — the inquiry that arrives at 6:47pm on a Friday and is still unanswered on Monday.
What the research shows
| Measure (secret-shopper study of 500 US firms) | Result |
|---|---|
| Firms that replied to a prospective client's email | 33% (40% in 2019) |
| Firms that answered the phone | 40% (56% in 2019) |
| Firms that never respond to their own website form | 26% |
| Of those who replied, gave a clear next step and cost info | 18% |

The Intake Leak Audit — $450, five business days, all in writing
- Leak report (6–8 pages, PDF). An audit of your public intake with the arithmetic: what slow responses cost you, using your practice area's average case value. The three gaps to fix first, ranked.
- The response system, built and switched on. Automatic acknowledgement within 5 minutes on your form and inbox, written in your firm's voice.
- Intake script for your main practice area — qualifying questions in the right order, plus what never to ask in writing.
- An eight-touch message ladder (Day 0, 1, 3, 7, 10, 14, 21, 30), ready to paste.
- A 10-minute screen recording (captions only, no voice) showing the system running on sample data.
$450 one time · 5 business days · no call required to start
I'll reply the same business day with the invoice and the two things I need from you. No subscription required.
After the audit, if you want me to run and maintain the system it's $1,250/month — no setup fee if you decide within 14 days. For comparison, an intake staffer runs $1,000–2,000/month and doesn't work at 6:47pm on a Friday.
What this is not
- Not marketing. I don't sell ads, SEO, or leads. I stop the ones you already paid for from being wasted.
- Not legal advice and not a review of your legal work.
- Not a call service. Nobody calls your prospects. The audit and the system are written.
- Not a subscription to start. The audit is a one-off.
Honest limits
- The audit covers written intake — website form and email. Missed phone calls are a separate problem: closing that half needs a voice system, which is a different and more expensive decision.
- The method is passive. I only look at what you publish publicly. I never pose as a client.
- I build the response system; you or your staff still decide what to say to each person. Your state bar's advertising rules come first, always.
Questions
Who is this for? Firms with 1–5 attorneys whose site has a form or a published email address — and no one whose only job is intake.
What do you need from me? Access to your form and email settings, the average value of a case in your practice area, and about 30 minutes of your time spread across the week.
Why only $450? Because it's an audit, not a project. If it isn't useful, you've spent the price of one billable hour and you're left with a written picture of where your leads go.
